Sailing

Your trip to Sardinia would not be complete without a day out on the sea. The north east coast offers a a constant wind so conditions are ideal for sailing, windsurfing and kite sailing.  The sheltered coves and clear waters are a true sailors paradise. The crystal clear waters are also ideal for snorkeling and sub aqua. Big game fishing is a popular pastime in the sea off Porto Rotondo. Locally there are opportunities to hire ribs, dinghy’s and windsurfers. Alternatively there are day trips locally to Isola Tavolara, La Maddalena, and further afield to Corsica.

We have two options. A day out on a skippered  40ft Catamaran, a day generally starts of from a local beach around 10am, depending on the weather you might go across to Isola Tavolara, or further south to a bay full of amazing rocks. There will be plenty of time for swimming and snorkelling, and exploring the location. The day includes a lunch of pasta and salad, and both alcoholic and soft drinks. You will need to take your own beach towels, and suntan cream. Please note there is shade on the cat. The day finishes around 5.30pm.

A day on a skippered 225hp motor boat.  Again, generally starts around 10am, with a blast out to sea to visit the protected islands of Mortorio and Soffi, there will be plenty of time to swim and snorkel in the crystal clear waters. From here you will motor over to explore some of the famous beaches of the Costa Smeralda. You will need to take your own food and drink, beach towels, snorkels etc. There will be a chance to go to a bar on one of the beaches if you prefer. Please note there is no shade on the boat. The day finishes around 5.30pm.

Both charters are suitable for both couples and families, and are available from the beginning of July through to the middle of September. The owners/skippers speak English and Italian.

A day charter offers a memorable day, at affordable rates.
